Introducing the Mathews Switchback XT

Bow Hunting Gear

The Mathews Switchback made quite a splash when it entered the hunting gear market in 2005. This is one of the smoothest hunting bows ever to hit the consumer market. Recall and sound from this hunting bow have all but been eliminated. Best of all the Mathews Switchback allows those of us who shoot our hunting bows good to become great.

The Cobra Cam on the Switchback is what makes this such a great hunting bow. It allows the Mathews Switchback to have a 7 inch brace height. You may think in order to have a very smooth hunting bow you need to give up speed, but that isn’t the case with the Mathews Switchback. This bow is capable of speeds up to 318 feet per second IBO.

Introducing the Mathews Switchback XT for 2006

Just when you thought you had purchased the ultimate hunting bow Mathews has gone out and one upped themselves again in introducing the Mathews Switchback XT new for 2006. Believe it or not the Mathews Switchback XT is a little smoother and quieter than the original. It remains a blend of speed, stealth and forgiving all in one package.

The Switchback XT’s power plant is the Straight-line C1 Cam which offers remarkable efficiency with perimeter weighting.

The original Mathews Switchback was a huge seller for Mathews driving their sales up 30% which is remarkable considering Mathews is already the largest selling bow manufacturer ever. Thankfully Mathews isn’t one to sit around waiting for another challenger to come up. For 2006, Mathews introduces the new Switchback XT. Compared to the Switchback, the new Switchback XT is shorter, smoother and even more forgiving.

Let’s face it a lot of us hunt out of treestands that aren’t exactly spacious areas. In fact some of the stands I hunted out of this last hunting season were just downright cramped. Often the scrape line you hunt just doesn’t offer a lot of places to put your stand and you end up in a make shift home made stand with just a few boards in place. The Switchback XT measures in it at just 31” axle to axle making it the ideal hunting bow for tight quarters hunting from tree stands or hunting blinds.

Adding even further to the Switchback silky smooth shooting ability Mathews has added a third Harmonic Dampener. There is an Harmonic Dampener in each of the string Suppressors and a third Harmonic Damper in the bow’s Roller Guard.

The Mathews Switchback XT has the most parallel limb design ever. It’s brace height is a full 7.5 inches.

Mathews is so confident in their new Switchback 2006 they’ve provided each and every one of their dealers with a Switchback XT for you to shoot against any other bow in archery dealer’s stock. As Mathews says “Visit your local dealer and shoot it against any other bow. You won’t believe the difference.”
