Archery Research's Velocity Hunting BowArchery Research recently introduced their 2006 Velocity Hunting Bow. This is their fastest hunting bow yet as they continue to improve upon their offerings. Archery Research’s Engineers set out with one goal in mind. The goal was to come up with the ultimate blend of speed and feel in a hunting bow. And how did they do that you ask? Using radical new bow geometry and an aggressive new single cam, the Velocity is light, compact and fast but compromises nothing on feel and shootability. With a 34" axle-to-axle measurement and a mass weight of just under four pounds, the Velocity is equally at home in a tree stand or while stalking. The new RAM Velocity™ one cam and a 6 ½" brace height combine to give the Velocity a top speed of 320 fps IBO. Archery Research was able to compact the Velocity by giving it their new Ultra-short limbs. limb to be possible. The new limbs on this hunting bow are stress optimized by size and manufactured to the tightest tolerances possible using CNC technology, these new limbs are raising the standard for performance and reliability. The Velocity™ limb is beyond parallel at full draw for totally vertical limb travel. The nine inch split limbs are controlled by independently adjustable pivoting limb pockets that allow the adjustment of cam attitude. This unique new feature adds a whole new dimension to bow tuning which gives the Velocity Bows the speed and feel you’re looking for in a hunting bow. The Velocity's 28 ½" long, almost straight riser geometry is so stable the effects of low brace height are nearly eliminated. Combined with the legendary Archery Research grip, which has been improved on these hunting bows to add more relief around the thumb area, the Velocity riser is almost impossible to torque. Archery Research's signature four sets of sight mounting holes have been lowered to better fit today's bowhunting sights. A centershot alignment mark helps to simplify bow setup. All new 2006 Archery Research bows have stainless steel stabilizer bushings in both the front and back. The new RAM Velocity™ one cam features a performance oriented draw force curve with the first ever two track module. By incorporating the second and third tracks into the module Archery Research engineers are able to optimize nock travel for each draw length setting. The RAM Velocity™ one cam's let-off is adjustable from 80% to 65% with a soft wall option in the 80% setting by removing the draw stop completely. The RAM Velocity™ idler wheel combines dual sealed ball bearings, a 4" diameter and an asymmetric string groove for the ultimate in feel and performance. The asymmetric string groove reduces friction and allows the removal of the idler wheel serving for a remarkable gain of almost 10 feet per second. AR Velocity Hunting Bow’s incredible feel comes from a combination of unique geometry and the eleven damping devices installed at the factory. Vibration damping devices are mounted at the tips of each of the four limbs as well as on each limb bolt. There is also a damper on the end of the cable guard rod and Top Gun™ String Chubs™ installed in the string. Archery Research’s Engineers took every measure to make this a hunting bow with a blend of speed and feel you’ll notice.
