Leupold’s 2006 line of Golden Ring® spotting scopes sports a new signature brown armor coating for those who like to blend into the landscape when hunting or observing wildlife. “Our exclusive brown armor coating is the new signature color for Golden Ring spotting scope and binocular products,” said Mike Slack, marketing communications manager for Leupold. “This particular shade of brown appeals to many hunters and naturalists, and works well for them in the field. Of course, our Golden Ring spotting scopes also are designed to work well in the field. They are extremely rugged, absolutely waterproof, lightweight and optically outstanding.”

The brown armor coating on these spotting scopes provides extra protection against the elements and hard knocks. It is textured, which helps make the spotting scope easy to grip, even when hands are sweaty, or in wet or cold conditions.

Spotting scopes in the Golden Ring line include the following models: 12-40x60mm HD, 12-40x60mm, 15-30x50mm Compact and 10-20x40mm Compact.

The newest model, introduced in 2005, is the 12-40x60mm HD, which distinguishes itself from other variable magnification spotting scopes with a long 30mm of constant eye relief throughout the entire magnification range for comfortable viewing over extended periods. It also features a lens system that utilizes an eco-friendly, fluoride-base glass objective for low dispersion of light as well as clearer, sharper color and contrast. Leupold’s Index Matched Lens System™ (a lens coating system) optimizes light management and maximizes light transmission to the eye, further contributing to an exceptionally bright and crisp sight picture with sharp contrast, even in low-light conditions.

In addition, Leupold’s proven Folded Light Path (FLP) lens and mirror optical system provides an effective optical path of a scope nearly twice the 12.4-inch (315.0 mm) length of the 12-40x60mm HD.

Leupold offers the Golden Ring 12-40x60mm spotting scope in a kit that also includes a compact tripod, window mount and digital camera adapter. A hard-side case with custom-cut interior padding holds all the items.
