North Starr Tree Stands Forest Tree CatThe Forrest Tree Cat Archer Tree Stand and the Forrest Tree Cat Hunter are some of the most technologically advanced tree stands ever produced. Both of these tree stands can be adjusted for tree diameter safely while climbing. I think we’ve all had it happen to us. You mount your tree stand on to a tree and begin to climb when you realize the angle you decided on wasn’t enough or the tree narrowed faster than most. North Starr has addressed this problem many tree stand hunters face. North Starr has invented a system where you Simply preload the bungee on the right side of the base before attaching the stand to the tree, then attach the stand to the tree with the left side Auto Cam(TM) and start climbing. When the tree diameter causes the stand to go below level simply lift the base up (taking your weight off the base and allowing slack in the tree gripper belt) and release the right Auto Cam(TM) which allows the bungee to pull the belt in tighter (for smaller tree diameter). Then let go of the right Auto Cam(TM) and continue climbing. No stand EVER, has had this safe, quick tree diameter adjustment feature. They also feature something called The Tree Gripper Belts(TM) are secured with the spring loaded Auto Cams that automatically grip the belt when released. The heavier the load, the tighter they grip the belts. With these cams, both seat and base can be easily and safely adjusted while climbing or for fine-tuning for comfort, when in hunting position. Yet another feature is the patented Bear Trap style lever and rope-stabling system allows for silent and secure secondary attachment to the tree when hunting position is reached, or to increase safety on the way up, if you pause to cut small limbs. This system allows you to secure, in seconds, your climber as solidly as a hang on stand and they are permanently attached to the stand-NO loose parts. The last item in this feature packed stand is the Pivoting Tree Gripper Feet(TM) will self-center and keep 4-point contact at all times to accommodate for changing tree shape and size. They will not slip on wet or slippery bark, and will not damage trees. Weight capacity on this stand is 300 pounds and the base is 18”x 34”. Last, but not least it weighs in at 19 pounds. From the looks of the tree stands they are producing North Starr has really done their research in the field and talking to tree stand hunters. They are taking every step possible to address some of the safety concerns with the treestands they produce and are also active members of the Treestand Manufacturers association.
