Ruger Redhawk Double Action Revolver · KRH-44

Product Spotlight

Ruger Redhawk Double Action Revolvers offer the following design features:

** Rugged frame, designed specifically to handle powerful Magnum loads, includes extra metal in top strap, sidewalls and barrel mounting areas

** Patented single-spring mechanism for both hammer and trigger

** Cylinder is positively locked into the frame at both the front and rear for more positive alignment

Ruger offers Double Action Revolvers in three different frame sizes to suit the needs of every double action shooter. The small-frame SP101 is light, comfortable and handy. The medium-frame GP-100 offers a moderate frame size with longer barrel lengths. The Redhawk and Super Redhawk provide a range of choices for those seeking a rugged, reliable, large-caliber revolver. All Ruger Double Action Revolvers incorporate a patented Ruger mechanism that locks the cylinder into the frame at both the front and rear.

Redhawk Large Frame Revolvers: Since its introduction in 1979, the Redhawk name has been the definition of powerful double action revolvers. Designed specifically to handle the powerful .44 Magnum cartridge, the Redhawk pioneered the patented Ruger “single-spring” mechanism for both hammer and trigger. Ruger also patented a mechanism to positively lock the cylinder into the frame at both the front and back for positive alignment. Redhawk models are available in blued or stainless steel and feature solid rosewood grips. Both 44 Magnum and 45 Colt calibers are offered in 5 1/2" and 7 1/2" barrel lengths.

Super Redhawk Large Frame Revolvers: The massive Super Redhawk, in .44 Magnum and Target Grey® Super Redhawk in .480 Ruger and .454 Casull, are ideal for meeting the challenge of using a revolver to hunt big game or as a back-up revolver when hunting dangerous game. The six-shot cylinder capacity adds an extra measure of confidence. These potent revolvers are also popular among metallic silhouette shooters. And, with Ruger Target Grey Super Redhawks, you get a unique low-glare Stainless Steel that is less likely to scare game away or throw off your aim!

The Target Grey® Super Redhawk in .454 Casull also accepts .45 Colt cartridges, offering the option of a lower recoil shooting alternative. The new Target Grey® Super Redhawk in .480 Ruger offers approximately one-third more energy than the powerful .44 Magnum and divides the gap between the .44 Magnum and .454 Casull. It can stop big game reliably at typical handgun distances, with less recoil than the mighty .454 Casull.

All Super Redhawks features an extended frame designed for scope mounts, longer barrel threads, cushioned grip panels, and a number of improved mechanical features. Its design emphasizes extra metal in the top strap and in the critical areas below and surrounding the barrel threads. With no side-plate, both sidewalls serve as integral parts of the frame for maximum strength and rigidity. More than just big revolvers, Super Redhawks are strong revolvers… easily withstanding the stresses imposed by the most powerful new handgun calibers.

GP-100 Medium Frame Revolvers: Ruger GP-100 Series double action revolvers offer an array of sophisticated design features that make traditional revolvers obsolete.

Strength, simplicity, and ease of maintenance are keys to their design. The cylinder is double-locked -- at the rear by a strong alignment pin, and at the front of the crane by a locking bar that engages a matching slot in the frame. Frame widths are increased in critical areas that support the barrel; both sidewalls are solid, integral sections of the frame, with no removable side-plates to compromise the frame’s integrity. Because these revolvers consist of a group of integrated subassemblies, takedown is quick and simple, requiring no special tools. The GP-100 grip frame houses the mainspring seat and trigger guard latch and post onto which standard or custom grips in a variety of sizes, shapes and materials can be fitted.

GP-100 Series revolvers are available in blued or stainless steel, fixed or adjustable sights and full or short barrel shrouds in lengths from 3" to 6". All models have rubber grips with rosewood inserts. Caliber choices include .38 Special and .357 Magnum, which also accepts .38 Special cartridges.

SP101 Small Frame Revolvers: Ruger SP101 Series double action revolvers offer the same quality features as the larger GP-100 Series but in a smaller frame. SP101s are available in six-round .22 LR and .32 Magnum models, and in five round 38+P and .357 Magnum calibers. All SP101s have full-length shrouds and rubber grips with synthetic insets.
