BOMBARDIER TRAXTER® MAX ATV NAMED "INNOVATIVE CONCEPT ATV OF THE YEAR" Two Person ATV

Press Release

Valcourt, Québec, - Bombardier Recreational Products is pleased to announce that the Bombardier Traxter® MAX ATV has been named the "2003 Innovative Concept ATV of the Year" by ATVConnection.com Magazine. Introduced last summer, the Traxter MAX opened an untapped market segment as the first ATV specifically designed to accommodate two riders. Prior to the Traxter MAX, ATVs were designed and recommended exclusively for single rider use.

"Traxter MAX represents the kind of dramatic departure from standard ATV thinking and manufacturing that has set BombardierTM ATVs apart from the beginning," said Chris Dawson, Vice President Marketing, Snowmobiles, Watercraft and ATV. "This 2-up utility ATV has been very well received by consumers and the media and we are grateful for this honor from ATVConnection.com."

Traxter MAX earned its "Innovative Concept ATV of the Year" Award by meeting a large, existing demand for 2-up riding capability at work. Its industry leading technology includes all the features of the award-winning Traxter® model plus an extended wheelbase, specially designed to provide the greater stability and control required when carrying a passenger, a step-up driver/passenger seat, an ergonomic passenger backrest, passenger hand-holds and raised floorboards. The success of Traxter MAX has inspired a growing family of Bombardier 2-up ATVs that now include the QuestTM MAX 650 and the OutlanderTM MAX 400H.O. 4X4.

"Our Two-Rider Series has set a new benchmark for 2-up comfort, versatility and dependability which will expand the ATV market and attract new types of riders," Dawson concluded. "By pioneering the way, Traxter MAX has earned this prestigious accolade."

Bombardier Recreational Products designs, develops, builds, distributes and markets utility vehicles, Rotax® engines and karts, Ski Doo and Lynx snowmobiles, BombardierTM ATVs, Sea Doo watercraft and sport boats, Johnson and Evinrude outboard engines, as well as Evinrude direct injection and Evinrude E TECTM technologies.

Traxter Max

The ATV known for working hard now works twice as hard, thanks to the amazing new TraxterTM MAX. Like the award-winning Traxter, it’s tough enough to handle almost any job, but it also lets you bring along another set of hands to help. Heck, it’s so powerful, it can haul a load, too. No wonder it won “2003 ATV of the Year” from ATV Connection. So we know it’s a concept that’ll work for you.

Bombardier ATV Features

The world's first two-rider ATVs Designing the world's first line of ATVs specially made for two riders meant more than just adding a seat. It meant rethinking everything about the ATV – including frame, suspension, and features – in order to create a whole new breed of quad without sacrificing stability, control, and comfort. The result is the BombardierTM Two-Rider ATVs.

We began with an extended wheelbase, which allows both riders to be seated in front of the rear axle shafts. This allows for optimum weight balance and better stability, whether one or two people are on board.

Then we installed a step-up driver/passenger seat as a fully integrated component, with raised footboards and passenger hand-holds. So both the driver and the passenger can ride proactively, no matter the terrain.

Next we added an ergonomic backrest which, together with the step-up seat, raised footboards and passenger hand-holds, all add up to a comfortable and more stable ride – whether your MAX is carrying one or two riders.

Plus, the Convertible Passenger Seat & Rack System, a special option available only on the Outlander MAX 400 H.O., allows you to quickly convert from a two-rider quad to a one-rider machine with extra cargo capacity.

All of which goes to show, at Bombardier ATV, we follow no one.
