Triton Boats New Aluminum 197 Magnum Takes The Challenge

Press Release

Miles of whitecaps and swells between the launch ramp and your fishing grounds. Acres of stumps and standing timber where most bass boats fear to tread. Vast shallow weedbeds that hold lunker largemouths, yet remain virtually unfished. If you’re a serious bass angler, these are but a few of the challenges you must face, whether your goal is catching trophy fish or excelling in tournament competition. And now Triton has introduced a new aluminum bass boat that’s hyper-engineered to accept every challenge modern-day bass fishing has to offer. It’s called the 197 Magnum, and it’s creating plenty of excitement among experienced bass anglers nationwide.

The new 197 Magnum is an all-welded tournament bass boat built in Triton’s state-of-the-art aluminum boat manufacturing facility in Aberdeen, Mississippi. It features a super-tough .125-gauge hull that will hold up to a lifetime of hard-core bassin’ in stumpy, rocky lakes.

Unlike most aluminum bass rigs, the 197 Mag is ideally suited for big, rough waters - it spans a full 19 feet 4 inches at the centerline and sports a massive 90.5-inch beam. Yet with it’s 70-inch bottom, it draws very little water, allowing it to sneak into untapped shallow areas with ease.

Getting to the fish safely, quickly and comfortably is paramount to today’s big-water bass angler, and the performance and riding comfort of Triton’s new 197 Mag exceed that of all other premium aluminum bass boats on the market, and many fiberglass tournament models as well.

Carrying a 200 horsepower rating and equipped with a 44-gallon fuel tank, this impressive boat has a cruising range comparable to that of any pro-level bass rig on the water. Most aluminum bass boats give you a pounding in rough water, but Triton’s famous Pad Vee hull design lifts the 197 Mag beautifully for an incredibly smooth, dry ride. Hole shot and top-end speed are nothing short of awesome - clearly, this isn’t your father’s aluminum fishing boat!

The interior of the 197 Mag is a bass angler’s dream come true. The massive front casting deck contains two giant dry storage areas, one of which holds 8 Plano 3700 tackle trays. Twin rod boxes can swallow up a pro’s arsenal of bass sticks with room to spare. The spacious rear deck holds two additional tackle organizers and a huge 50-inch livewell, big enough to accommodate a trophy striper or musky...or a world-record largemouth! This livewell features Triton’s tournament-proven timed aeration, recirculation and water pump-out system for superior on-board management of your catch and enhanced survival rates after release.

Luxury, creature comforts and ergonomic efficiency abound in the new 197 Mag. The sleek, molded modular console features a vinyl-wrapped instrument shroud and padded cockpit bolsters. Individual bucket seats offer excellent support, and tilt forward to reveal additional storage modules. A center seat insert is also included. A built-in cooler, padded passenger rod ramp and rod hold-downs are also standard.

Additional features include full premium carpeting, two pedestal fishing seats, 24-volt Motor Guide foot-control trolling motor and Lowrance X-51 graph. A custom drive-on trailer completes the package. Triton’s 197 Mag is overbuilt for a lifetime of fishing enjoyment. It’s crafted from premium 5052 aluminum stock and features all-welded wood-free construction, a computer-designed longitudinal stringer system and Triton’s exclusive locking keel for the ultimate in strength, structural integrity and impact resistance.

Its brilliant, rock-hard urethane automotive paint finish stands up to the hard knocks of bassin’.

The 197 Magnum is available in both single and twin console editions at authorized Triton dealers across North America.
