Leupold Enhances VX®-II Riflescope Line

Leupold Press Release

BEAVERTON, Ore. – Enhancements to Leupold’s® 2004 line of Golden Ring® VX®-II riflescopes include a new Multicoat 4® lens system that provides a brighter, clearer image for hunters and shooters. The Multicoat 4 system is used on all VX-II riflescope lens surfaces, external and internal. It increases the amount of available light that reaches the eye and minimizes reflections on the outer eyepiece.

As a result, the system enhances image brightness and clarity, and improves contrast in low-light conditions. Other new features of the VX-II line include a lockable, fast-focus eyepiece and a tactile power indicator that allows the shooter to easily tell the scope’s magnification with just a touch, without taking his or her eye from the eyepiece.

Leupold’s Wide Duplex® reticle, designed to help the shooter get on the target quickly and easily, is a new option for VX-II riflescopes. “The VX-II is one of our most popular riflescope lines but after careful deliberation, we decided to make a few changes for the better,” said Mike Slack, Leupold’s marketing communications manager. “These changes will ensure the VX-II continues to meet the demands of today’s serious hunters and shooters.

While talking about the improvements, it’s important to remember that the VX-II remains based on the same tried and true internal optical system, and offers classic Golden Ring durability, recoil resistance and absolute waterproof integrity.”

VX-II riflescopes have a one-inch maintube diameter and are offered in the following configurations: 1-4x20mm, 2-7x33mm, 3-9x40mm, 3-9x50mm, 4-12x40mm Adjustable Objective, 6-18x40mm Adjustable Objective and 6-18x40mm Adjustable Objective Target.

Each model is available with the new Wide Duplex reticle option. The 1-4x20mm and 2-7x33mm magnifications also come in a shotgun model with a Heavy Duplex reticle. Other reticle options, depending on model, include the Duplex, CPC, Fine Duplex, Post and Duplex, German #1, German #4, Leupold Dot and Target Dot.

Other key features: • Precise audible and tactile ¼-MOA “click” adjustments for windage and elevation.
• Generous, non-critical eye relief. •
Scope finish options include gloss black, matte black and silver, depending on model.
• Waterproof – each scope is filled with nitrogen and sealed with Leupold’s proven process to keep out moisture. - more - As with all Leupold Golden Ring® scopes, the VX-II models are made in the U.S.A.
