STURM, RUGER INTRODUCES TWO NEW MODEL SINGLE SIX® HUNTERSSturm, Ruger & Company, Inc., (NYSE: RGR) the nation’s largest firearms manufacturer, announced today the introduction of two new single action revolver models for 2004: the Ruger New Model Single Six Hunters, available in either 17 HMR or a convertible 22 LR/22 WMR. These rimfire Hunter models are certain to be popular among varmint hunters and target shooters alike. These new Hunter models are based upon the highly successful Ruger New Model Single Six single action revolver design. They feature brushed stainless steel components, a 7 _” ribbed barrel and black laminated wood grip panels with black Ruger eagle medallions. They also feature a rifle-style gold bead front sight and V-notch rear sight for precise target acquisition. The 22 convertible model includes two cylinders: one in 22 LR and one in 22 WMR. The 17 HMR model is designed to accept the exciting new, flat-shooting 17 HMR cartridge that took the shooting industry by storm in 2003. Like the sought-after Ruger New Model Super Blackhawk and Bisley Hunters, the New Model Single Six Hunters feature a heavy ribbed barrel with integral scope cuts designed to accept a pair of medium height, stainless Ruger scope rings, which are included at no extra charge. Ruger scope rings are designed to never shoot loose under recoil. The New Model Single Six Hunters also feature slots machined directly into the barrel rib to allow shooters to solidly attach 22 tip-off type scope mounts. “Sturm, Ruger is proud to be the nation’s leading manufacturer of single action revolvers. Our first single action revolver was introduced over fifty years ago.* Today, Ruger single action revolvers are the top choice among cowboy action shooters, hunters and collectors. Sturm, Ruger’s reputation for providing quality single action revolvers is legendary. Ruger New Model single action revolvers are prized for their strength, reliability, and durability,” said Sturm, Ruger & Company President, Stephen L. Sanetti. “The New Model Single Six Hunter models are an exciting addition to our extensive line of single action revolvers. These new revolvers provide shooters with two great options for solidly mounting today’s advanced optical sighting systems to achieve small game rifle-like accuracy. No other single action revolvers offer this rugged mounting system,” Sanetti noted. Both Ruger New Model Single Six Hunter models will be available beginning in late March 2004. *Owners of “old model” (pre-1973) Ruger Single Six, Blackhawk, Super Blackhawk and Bearcat single action revolvers should contact Ruger for details about our important free safety conversions.
