Fly Fishing - New Caddis Creek™ and Mountain Brook'M Fly Reels from Martin®

Fly Fishing - Press Release

Fly Fishing- Fly anglers see their tackle as an extension of their own body. Precision casting, delicate hook sets and a dependable retrieve are all part of a fly fisherman's science. And Martin is proud to add to the discipline of fly anglers everywhere in 2004 with two new series of reels - the Mountain Brook and Caddis Creek.

The Mountain Brook is a lightweight, diecast fly fishing reel featuring a rim-controlled aluminum spool and frame. The new compression disk drag system allows for fine tuned adjustments under battle once you've determined what's on the other end.

Mountain Brook models are convertible from left to right hand retrieve and all models feature spare spools. The series consists of the MB34 that holds 75 yards of 20# backing and 30 yards of WF4F. The MB56 holds 100 yards of 20# backing and 30 yards of WF6F. The MB78 holds 175 yard of 20# backing and 30 yards WF8F. The Mountain Brook fly fishing series retails for about $29.99 each.

The Caddis Creek fly fishing reel series consisting of three models features a reinforced aluminum spool. The CC61 weighs in at 3.1 ounces and holds 50 yards of 20# backing and 30 yards of WF6F. The CC65 weighs 3.5 ounces and holds 50 yards of 20# backing and 30 yards of WF6F. The CC68 is the largest model weighing 4.4 ounces and holds 200 yards of 20# backing and 30 yards of WF8F.

Caddis Creek models have a metal click drag system with on-off control, but the CC65 and CC68 offer rim-controlled drag. All models have a lightweight aluminum spool with a push button release to make them flexible for a variety of fly fishing conditions. And all models are left or right hand retrieve.
Caddis Creek fly reels retail for about $9.99.
