Fly Fishing - Diamondback Rod Company

Product Spotlight

The Diamondback Rod Company of Vermont shook the fly fishing world in 2003 with the introduction of Diamondglass™ - a series of lightweight, low profile, moderate action S2 fiberglass fly fishing rods. With a mid-year introduction of three piece models and two new two piece models for 2004, Diamondglass™ is quickly becoming the gotla-have rod!

For 2004, Diamondback is also excited to introduce three additional new fly rod series, all based on extensive field-testing and the experience of the rod crofters in Diamondback's Vermont factory. The new line up includes an all-new entry-level series, the Americana™ , an expanded series of double-handed rods, the Salmon/Steelhead, and a brand new series of Musky fly fishing rods.

The Diamondback Americana™ Series is a unique fly rod that emphasizes quality as much as affordability. Grafted from blanks made in our Vermont jactory, these medium-fast action fly fishing rods are easy loading for smooth short casts, yet still retain plenty of power when you need to reach out further and deliver your fly on target. Americana™ is available in a wide range of line sizes to accommodate a vast array of fly fishing situations from small stream dry flies to surf busting blues.

Double-handed rods are growing in popularity from the New England coast to the Pacific Northwest. With their unique ability to cover larger water and for their ease of casting, double-handers are a joy to cast hour after hour. This year Diamondback is pleased to announce the second generation of the Salmon/Steelhead fly fishing series in four situation specific models. Available in sizes of 12 }/2, 13', 14' and 15'.

Diamondback's new Musky fly fishing Rods have been designed and built with the accumulative efforts of many of the countries top musky anglers and experienced custom rod builders. Their knowledge of graphic composites, resins, taper designs and their ability to bring it all together has resulted in a reputation in the musky world as being the finest available. For several years now these blanks have been available from Diamondback to custom rod builders and have found there way into the hands of thousands of musky anglers.

All models are made from DS 800 graphite and constructed with Fuji reel seats and Alconite guides. Handles are constructed from the finest Portugal cork available. This is all brought together with the detail and care in craftsmanship that makes these fly fishing rods a pleasure to fish and own. See page 17 for all the details on the new musky rods.

Diamondback's proud heritage and history of innovation continues in 2004 with exciting new models from one of America's premier fly fishing rod manufacturers.
