Fly Fishing - Press Release

Along with the new Mastery Series Trout Taper and Streamer Express fly lines, Scientific Anglers addresses all types of fly-fishing and all types of fly fishing anglers with an extensive list of new products for '04. You can see all these fly-fishing products at sport shows throughout the winter — and soon, if not already, on retailer shelves.

Mastery Series Spey/Short Head fly fishing lines: Designed to shoot great distances with little effort, perfect for anglers preferring lines with shorter heads. The short head (50- to 56-feet) easily loads rods. Offered in WF weights to match 7- through 12-weight rods. Formulated with AST, the yellow running line transitions into a mist green-colored head so spey casters to see where the head starts allowing more effective casting. Suggested retail – $ 69.95

Mastery Series Spey/Standard fly fishing lines: Complete redesign to the original Mastery Series Spey lines, for spey casters preferring a line with a mid-length (65- to 75-feet) head. The extended head and long front compound taper provide long-distance line control when fishing wide-open rivers. Formulated with AST with a yellow running line transitioning into the mist green-colored head, the lines are offered in WF weights to match 7- through 13- weight rods. Suggested retail – $ 69.95

Mastery Series Nymph fly fishing lines: Now offered with a more powerful front taper to turn over better when using weighted flies, split-shot and strike indicators, and an extra long compound tapered head and extended rear taper for improved line control long and distance mending. A new larger tip provides added floatation for easier mending and better strike detection. Formulated with AST. Available in a willow color in weight forward 4 through 8 weights. Suggested retail – $59.95

Mastery Series Fluorocarbon II fly fishing tippet material: Patented double-structured technology, combining two exclusive fluorocarbon resins for softer, yet stronger material. Unique combination provides a harder, more abrasion-resistance coating, with a softer, supple core. Virtually invisible in water, offers superior knot strength and minimal water absorption, and has average breaking strengths that exceed the rated pound test. Offered in 25-meter spools in 7X up to 0X. Suggested retail – $13.95
