Fishing Gear - Stren Super Braid Establishes The New Super Line Standard

Fishing Gear - Press Release

Madison, NC – Finally! A super line that has it all! “Super line” has been a buzzword among knowledgeable anglers since the first of such lines hit the water in 1993. At first, fishermen raved about the two most important performance features of this new generation of line over monofilament – extremely low stretch and vastly improved sensitivity. Pretty soon, braided lines and hybridizations (remember Silver Braid and Ultra-Max?) began spreading like pondweed.

However, it wasn’t too long before the drawbacks of these lines came to the forefront. Poor knot strength, knot slippage, flattening, color and coating loss, fraying and the line digging into itself on the spool soon had anglers cursing rather than casting. Many of the super lines eventually disappeared off dealer pegboards, but even today’s offerings leave a lot to be desired.

This all changes with the introduction of Super Braid from Stren, manufacturer of the most dependable fishing line in the world.

“Super Braid incorporates exclusive technologies and advanced materials that elevate its performance beyond other super lines,” states David Justice, the product and research and development manager for Stren. Justice continues, “The fisherman who uses a super line will notice the dramatic difference with the Stren Super Braid after the first cast and hook-up. And he won’t have to deal with the problems that have plagued the super line he was previously using. Stren Super Braid establishes a new and unbeatable level of performance in the super line category.”

The genesis of the superlative performance and remarkable durability of Stren Super Braid is the exclusive Advanced MicroBond Technology, or AMT.

The AMT process is a highly specialized form of fiber impregnation that actually becomes part of the line. This occurs because the impregnation material is of the same family of resins as the fiber itself!. As such, the finish actually permeates and bonds to the line fibers. This compact construction creates a small-diameter braided line that retains its original round shape, color, slickness and strength much longer than ordinary super lines that utilize a wax or Teflon® coating.

Stren Super Braid is brutally tough and can be worked around the nastiest structure without fraying. It won’t flatten or ribbon and is far less prone to digging into itself on the spool. The smooth round shape greatly enhances castability from either spinning or baitcasting reels, and it has a familiar “mono-like” feel.

Stren Super Braid possesses exceptionally high knot strength and strength-to-diameter ratio. It knots perfectly to a leader and won’t slip as easily as most braids. (See the “J” Knot press release). Stren Super Braid’s feather-touch sensitivity enables the angler to detect even the slightest “tap”, while the near-zero stretch buries the hook-point on contact.

And unlike other super lines that fade after only moderate use, Stren Super Braid keeps its color longer. That’s right … you don’t have to keep a Magic Marker™ in your tackle box.

Stren Super Braid is available in Lo-Vis Green and Hi-Vis Gold in 8, 10, 14, 20, 30, 40, 50, 65, 80 and 130 lb. tests. It comes in 125 yd., 300 yd. and 1500 yd. spools.
