Fish Cameras - Nature Visions ’s MAV - The First Hands Free Underwater Viewing System

Fish Cameras - Press Release

Fishing Camera - Before the announced introduction of Nature Vision’s new MAV (Motorized Aqua-Vu) it was assumed that simultaneous fishing and underwater viewing were difficult and inconvenient. Now, with user-friendly MAV, same-time fishing and viewing are possible!

With an easy-to-use foot control, MAV’s powerful gear-driven motor lowers and raises the camera to the desired depth. Camera cable is released and retrieved without backlashes. The fishing camera tracks straight with minimal cable drag at normal speeds (less than 2 mph), thanks to 2 pounds of internal ballast and a protective hydrodynamic fish-shaped camera housing.

For easy viewing, MAV features a daylight viewable 10.4-inch TFT LCD display that can be seen from anywhere in the boat. An Auto-Off feature turns the monitor off when the camera is fully retracted. For even more viewing versatility, the fishing camera contains an external video-output jack for watching the underwater scene simultaneously on two monitors or video recording (additional monitors sold separately.)

MAV includes Nature Vision's patented Temp-Tech and Depth-Tech features for on-screen water temperature and depth information. Multi-Color fishing camera lights facilitate after-dark viewing. MAV is powered by the boat’s 12-volt system.

Available in January of 2004, the MAV will retail for under $2000. Nature Vision’s National Sales Manager Trevor Sumption has no qualms about the four-digit price tag, “Currently we sell more five and six-hundred dollar Aqua-Vu models than we do three hundred dollar models. The last few years in the fishing market have demonstrated that consumers are not afraid to pay for features that offer true benefits – whether it’s in depthfinders, reels, or underwater fishing cameras.”

Nature Vision’s MAV permits comfortable viewing and fishing at the same time. That’s big change and innovation — a breakthrough in fishing-friendly fishing camera viewing convenience!

Nature Vision, Inc. a privately held corporation headquartered in Brainerd, Minnesota created Aqua-Vu, the first self-contained underwater fishing camera viewing system in 1997. Founded by President/CEO Jeff Zernov, Nature Vision, Inc. continues to dominate the category it created through continual product innovation.
