Fishing Lures- New Showdown Blade Bait Introduced By Worden's Lures

Fishing Lures- Press Release

Worden's all new Showdown is the most versatile blade bait ever offered, with a true universal baitfish profile and exceptional vibration for walleye and all other gamefish species. It's a steel crankbait, a vertical jig, a cast-and-jig-back lure and a slow-troll-and-jig lure.

Instead of using common willow leaf spinner blades or old Sonar blades altered to look different, the Showdown is a natural baitfish profile blade dedicated for only one purpose - superior all around performance.

With the Showdown there is no more guessing on which hole to tie to for vertical jigging, cast-and-jig-back or jig-troll. One hole does it all with seamless performance in all modes. Plus, the Showdown body design greatly reduces line twist associated with willow leaf style blades.

Worden's new Showdown comes in three sizes; 3/4 ounce, 1/2 ounce and 1/4 ounce, and is available in seven lifelike, hand-painted finishes.

The most versatile blade bait ever offered, with a true universal baitfish profile and exceptional vibration for walleye and all other gamefish species. It's a steel crankbait, a vertical jig, a cast and jig back lure and a slow troll and jig lure.

We have had many requests to make a modern "blade bait" at Worden's, but when we looked at existing designs, we wondered why a blade bait had to look like an insect, a willow leaf or have a curly-Q tail. To get a truly modern design, we started with a clean slate and took full advantage of our massive 30 foot test tank combined with on-the-water testing. Check out the Showdown Blade Bait features!

An original, dedicated blade design Instead of using common willow leaf spinner blades, or old Sonar blades altered to look different, we designed a natural baitfish profile blade dedicated for only one purpose - superior all around performance. Our blades have a curved section only where it is needed to activate the lure at low speeds. The rest of the blade is flat. Single hole rigging for all techniques No more puzzles on which hole to use for vertical jigging, cast and jig back or jig-troll. One hole does it all with seamless performance in all modes.

Less Line Twist

The partially curved blade greatly reduces line twist associated with willow leaf style curved blades.

Technique Versatility

High lift, ripping styles, snapping lifts, jig n' pig style lift and drop, and sweeping retrieves are all okay with the Showdown blades because they will not "blow out" and tumble like curved willow leaf blades when you put on the speed. We recommend for most conditions, a simple firm sweep on the uplift cycle, feel the vibration, then let the lure fall to the bottom without following it with the rod tip.

Hook Arrangement

The mid-size and small Showdown blades have a single tail hook. This produces good hookups and makes it easier to shake off snags. A split ring reduces losses to head shaking fish like walleye. The Mag Showdown blade has two hooks to cover the longer body with a split ring and an extended harness for the belly hook. By clipping the true downturned treble tine on any hook you can reduce hangups even more on snaggy bottoms. You can do this by putting the spit ring in a position horizontal to the lure body, checking hook tine position carefully and clipping the down turned tine. Fish losses are still minimal and the upturned hooks sweep off the bottom easier on the retrieve lift cycle.
