When closed, the breech on the Apex offers 100% protection from the elements while containing all gases and blowback. To open, simply pull down on the trigger guard spur and the breech swings down, allowing easy access to cap and de-cap 209 primers by hand. The Apex’s receiver-free design also allows the utilization of a 28” barrel without increasing the overall length or weight of the rifle. The one-piece, 28” fluted barrel of the Apex Magnum 209 assures complete burn of heavy magnum charges while providing up to 300 fps of extra velocity, the highest velocities available from an in-line muzzleloader. Offered in both .45 and .50 caliber, all Winchester Muzzleloading barrels feature a 1:28” rifling twist for super tight groups at ranges out to 200 yards. The ergonomically designed solid composite stock on the Apex provides superior balance and handling while reducing felt recoil. Other appreciated features on the Apex Magnum 209 include a ventilated recoil pad, high-tech sling, and innovative new metal-encased fiber optic sights that are guaranteed for life against breakage.
