Fishing Lures - BERKLEY® Gulp!™ Super Baits New 5-Inch Sinking Minnow

Fishing Lures - Press Release

Fishing Lures - SPIRIT LAKE, IOWA - The new Gulp! baits from Berkley are available in ten distinct fish catching shapes including the 5-inch Sinking Minnow. This bait is ideal for weedless presentations for suspended bass along grasslines, around docks or vertical cover. Fished weightless, the Sinking Minnow slowly falls with a shimmy bass can't resist.

The Gulp! Sinking Minnow can be fished weightless on a Texas rig or wacky style, cast to suspended fish or bass holding in cover. After the bait hits the water simply let it sink. The bait has its own action and will wiggle and shake as it falls.

When the fish strikes, generally there's little doubt, reel down and set the hook. If the bait settles to the bottom give it three or four jerks using the rod tip. Then let the bait fall free again. This gives the bait the look of escaping baitfish running to the surface.

"Gulp! changes everything!" exclaimed Jay Yelas, 2002 Bassmaster Classic champion and 2003 BASS Angler of the Year. "I fish plastic trailers a lot. Gulp! puts hundreds of times more scent in the water, so you cover a larger zone with every cast. And on slow techniques, like pitching a jig, fish strike more aggressively."

The Sinking Minnow can also be rigged Carolina style. A package of 10 Gulp! Sinking Minnows has a suggested retail price of $5.49.
