2006 Yamaha Rhino 450 Realtree Camo

Hunting & Fishing Gear Review

Yamaha recently introduced much of its 2006 lineup including a Kodiak 450 Special Edition Hunting model featuring Realtree Camo. The Kodiak 450 is all new for 2006 and the Realtree Camo Edition will prove to be just what the doctor ordered for those of us who use an ATV for hunting. The all new value-priced Rhino 450 4x4 has all the extreme off-roading abilities of its sibling and is available in Realtree High-definition Camouflage. The Yamaha Rhino 450 Camo is valued price at an MSRP of $8449.

The Yamaha Rhino 450 features a comfortable automobile like interior meaning the controls are positioned much like the interior of your car i.e. brake left, gas right. Yamaha’s goal was to make the Rhino 450 user friendly and part of that was positioning the controls much like that of your truck or car.

The engine is a liquid cooled 421cc engine coupled with an Industry-exclusive fully automatic Ultramatic® transmission with dual-range (Hi/Lo) drive and reverse is the most advanced drive system available. The transmission also provides downhill engine braking which is an industry exclusive. The Yamaha 421 cc engine combined with the Ultramatic transmission gives the Yamaha Rhino 450 camo versatile all-around performance combined with better fuel efficiency so you can reach your hunting spot no matter how far it is from the nearest paved road.

The suspension Yamaha chose for the Rhino 450 is a Fully independent four-wheel suspension: Double-wishbones front and rear deliver with 7.3 inches of wheel travel and five-way preload adjustable shocks provide maximum tire contact and comfort for navigating rough terrain. The Rhino 450 also provides some of thickest bucket seats in the industry and when combined with the Rhino’s suspension provides one of the smoothest rides in the ATV industry.

The Rhino 450 Realtree Edition provides 12.1 inches of ground clearance and a dual-range (hi/lo) providing more pulling power in Lo and more performance power in HI than any other ATV in its class. Also provided is an industry-exclusive three-position On-Command® In/Out 4WD feature lets you switch between 2WD, limited-slip 4WD and fully locked differential 4WD—all with the simple push of a button. A direct rear shaft drive eliminates the U-joint for greater durability and more efficient power transfer at all RPM.

These are just a few of the many features of the Rhino 450 Realtree Edition. This is sure to be a great ATV for hunting and all around fun. For more details on the Yamaha Rhino 450 visit www.yamaha-motor.com
