Leupold VX-III Scopes

Hunting & Fishing Gear Review

Leupold touts their VX-III Scopes as the sum of everything they’ve learned about rifle scopes in nearly 100 years of working in hunting optics. The main attraction to this scope is Leupold’s new Index Matched Lens System. Leupold Engineers set the system up to provide a very low reflection of light across the range of colors visible to the human eye. Lighting that doesn’t reflect off the lens transmits through and contributes to a crisp brilliant image. The light the lens system does let into the scope doesn’t bounce around and degrade the contrast of the object being viewed.

In designing the VX-III Riflescopes Leupold’s Lens Technicians took the time to select just the right lens coating to match each of the individuals lens. The substances put on the lens were also layered to maintain image quality. The result is a riflescope that provides brightness and clarity like you’ve never seen before in a riflescope.

Some of the additional features making this such a great riflescope for hunting are:

Finger adjustable windage and elevation dials with a full reset back to zero. If you’ve ever had to dig in your pockets to grab a dime or screwdriver when sighting in and then losing track of zero you know how nice this little feature on a riflescope is.

Leupold offers this riflescope in three illuminated models which greatly improve contrast for early morning and let evening hunting.

One of the most popular features of the VX-III Riflescope is the Ballistic Aiming System which consists of two unique reticles designed to help big game and varmint hunters shoot accurately at long distance for clean kills. Leupold worked with the Boone & Crocket Club in developing this unique and very functional reticle system for the riflescope. Each reticle on the Ballistic Aiming System provides multiple aiming points for long range and windy conditions. Through the use of two power selector settings you choose which of the scopes aiming points you want to use to set your ballistics.

The last few features of this scope are:

The legendary Leupold ruggedness and absolutely fog proof and rainproof guarantee.
