Daiwa Viento Baitcasting Fishing Reel

Hunting & Fishing Gear Review

If you’re wondering what all the buzz is about in 2006 fishing reels it’s the Daiwa Viento. The Daiwa Viento introduces an industry first Twitchin Bar. The Twitchin Bar of the Daiwa Viento allows you to pick up slack in your line without ever touching the handle of your fishing reel. Just flick the switch and you can pick up as little as four inches of line or as much as 20 foot of line depending on how long you hit the switch.

Just imagine the presentation you can provide without having to stop and wind the handle of your reel. The ability to control your bait with one hand the Daiwa Viento provides will give you the ability to greatly increase your fish catch. Throw the jig or worm out there and hit the switch to give it just a little nudge as it does its thing. The days of failing to set the hook properly due to too much slack in your line might be gone now that Daiwa has introduced the Viento which in Spanish means wind.

The Daiwa Viento Fishing Reel shouldn’t be known for its revolutionary Twitchin Bar only. This is a tournament grade fishing reel and if you follow fishing gear you know that Daiwa has been on a roll in recent years introducing an impressive array of new fishing reels.

Some of the many features of the Daiwa Viento Fishing Reel are:

Long Cast X-Treme System- These performance features combine to allow longer casts, smoother retrieves, and optimum drag performance. Featuring tough solid bronze pinion gears, big brass drive gears, and rugged yet lightweight anodized aluminum spools, these reels are designed to give serious fishermen years of flawless performance. Two features, combined with specially engineered spools, take long-distance casting to the extreme:

Aluminum frame, spool, and side-plate

Machined bronze drive gear and super-alloy pinion

Quality 8-bearing system

Magforce™ cast control

Infinite Anti-Reverse

8-disc micro-click drag

It looks like Daiwa has hit a homerun with the new Daiwa Viento Baitcaster. I look forward to reading a few reviews on the Viento and how our Readers like this innovative fishing reel.
