Rooster Tail Fishing LuresRooster Tails are my favorite trout fishing lure. Give me an ultra-light fishing reel and a 1/16th ounce black body and silver blade and I’m happy. I’ve fished extensively with many of the Rooster Tails in a small farm pond near where I grew up. This pond was loaded with largemouth just waiting for something to hit the water. My most productive fishing lures were the Rooster Tails over anything else including a variety of plastic worms. I always started my days by throwing the silver spoon on a black body Rooster Tail and if they weren’t hitting on that lure I would switch to the Silver spoon on a black body. It took me a long while to realize, but if they weren’t hitting on either of those fishing lures it was time to go home. At least in this little pond the bass definitely preferred Rooster tails over any other fishing lure I had access to. Since the 1950’s Worden’s original Rooster Tail is a crucial piece of fishing tackle for many anglers. Even with hundreds if not thousands of new fishing lures hitting the market each year this lure has proven to be dependable day in and day out. The best part about this fishing lure is how so many different fish species find it attractive. The Original Rooster Tail is available in ten sizes and over 100 different colors so you’re bound to have one the fish are looking for in any fishing situation. |
