New Features Enhance Leupold’s VX™-I Riflescope Line

Press Release

BEAVERTON, Ore. – Responding to numerous requests from hunters and shooters, Leupold® now offers a matte black finish on its VX™-I, an American-made riflescope specifically designed to deliver the best performance and value in the “affordable” price category.

“In 2002, we introduced the VX-I with a gloss black finish and a variety of features that,in our opinion, made it the world’s best riflescope in the $200-$300 retail price range,” said Mike Slack, Leupold’s marketing communications manager. “Now, in response to popular demand,we have added matte black models to the VX-I line, which has quickly become recognized among hunters and shooters for its optical quality, rugged waterproof construction and repeatable accuracy.”

Made in the U.S.A., the VX-I has a one-inch maintube diameter and is available in the most popular hunting magnifications: 2-7x33mm 3-9x40mm, and 4-12x40mm. Many hunters prefer the matte black finish because it is durable as well as non-reflective, which maximizes concealment potential.

New VX-I features for 2003 include: ¼-MOA Micro-friction™ elevation and windage dials to help ensure quick and reliable point-of-impact adjustment, and a Multicoat 4® enhanced lens system for crisp, edge-to-edge sharpness across the visual field. In addition, the Duplex® reticle, which was developed by Leupold, has become an industry standard. The VX-I is designed to provide generous, non-critical eye relief while withstanding repeated recoil.

Like all Leupold Golden Ring® scopes, it is built for reliable use under harsh field conditions including extreme heat and cold, wet weather and the hard knocks common to hunting.

Backed by Leupold’s Full Lifetime Guarantee, the VX-I has passed stringent impact and waterproofing/anti-fogging tests. Leupold’s own pioneered technology fills each scope with nitrogen and seals it for absolute waterproof integrity.VX-I riflescopes are available only through authorized Leupold Golden Ring dealers.
