The Orvis Pro Guide II and Silver Label II Make a Grand Entrance for 2004

Press Release

MANCHESTER, Vermont – This time, the sequel is better than the original. The 2004 Wader Revolution continues as Orvis’ beloved Pro Guide and Silver Label stockingfoot wader models are reincarnated for 2004 as Pro Guide II and Silver Label II, incorporating new technology to make them even more comfortable.

The Pro Guide II is made from the same rugged yet luxurious fabric — a four-layer upper polyester microfiber that is now brushed for softness, enhanced by the addition of a new five-layer fabric offering reinforced knees, shins, and seat.

The stockingfoot booties are now constructed of anatomically sculpted left and right-foot-shaped Hypalon®, for unparalleled comfort, plus maximum tear, abrasion, and compression resistance. No more scrunching feet into ill-fitting tubes of neoprene.

Also included are new self-fabric gravel guards and new double belt loops on the back and sides to allow flexible and secure positioning of the wader belt. The same detachable Pro Guide suspenders and belt loops allow effortless conversion to a comfortable waist-high wader.

According to Dave Barber, who has been guiding professionally on the Salmon River for over 20 years, “These waders have unequivocally performed better than any other wader I've ever owned, and that's saying a lot! I really like how the ergonomic booty handles the Orvis wading sock in the Henry's Fork shoe. Support and warmth are excellent.”

All this, and the Pro Guide II is being offered at same price as last year: just $279.

The Silver Label II also boasts the new anatomically sculpted Hypalon booty. This new version of the Silver Label, Orvis’ “Original Breathable Wader,” now has built-in gravel guards made from high-density neoprene.

The Silver Label II is also made from rugged four-layer brushed polyester microfiber with a double-reinforced lower front leg. The wader comes with adjustable suspenders and a wader belt. It retails for just $179.

Both the Pro Guide II and the Silver Label II are also equipped with a repair kit and a breathable stuff sack.

The new Orvis Wader Revolution waders, including these two models, will be available for purchase in 2004. Images available upon request. To order, call 1-800-333-1550 ext. 172, or visit www.orvis.com, or click the Orvis banner on the top right of this page.
