New From Buck Knives - Summit Model 760 BLXThe Summit is a lightweight multi-use knife designed for outdoor activities. Its blade is a drop point, partially serrated, made from 420HC stainless steel, with easy one-hand opening and closing. Tools include can opener, bottle opener, screwdriver, corkscrew and large lanyard loop for securing a carabiner. The handle, lightweight aluminum with molded thermoplastic, comes in 4 colors-black, blue, red and lime green. This knife is the latest in a series of outdoor knives designed in collaboration with famed mountaineer Peter Whittaker. The Summit was designed to be lightweight and rugged enough for climbing, yet functional enough for backpacking and hiking. After prototype testing with Peter's guides and clients, this knife was refined and given the green light. All Folding Buck Knives Folding blade knives have blades that unfold for use and fold back into the handle when not in use. Folding knives use locking mechanisms to lock the blade in place when in the open position. Releasing the locking mechanism enables the blade to be folded. Different types of locking mechanisms are: Lockback: Unlocking mechanism is on back (top) of handle. Two-hand opening and closing. Locking Liner: Unlocking mechanism is inside the handle liner. One-hand opening and closing with thumb stud or thumb hole. Frame Lock: Unlocking mechanism is on one side of the handle frame. One-hand opening and closing with thumb stud or thumb hole. http://www.buckknives.com |
